When I found the collective, I knew I had finally found my people. To say the collective creates a supportive environment for artists and makers to thrive is an understatement. Learning through the community has expanded my practice quickly from my first dabblings with soft plastics to a full and growing range of techniques, tools, and influences. Natalya is shepherding a uniquely resilient group of like-minded thinkers and kindred spirits who offer a limitless array of experience and experimentation in challenging convention and share a vision for transforming waste into powerful visual statements. This group is not just informative, it's inspirational and a continual call to action.

I am a long time recycler but if it were not for The Repurposer Collective and Natalya Khorover, I would not have ventured very far down this artistic path.  Natalya is the guiding force to the collective as she leads us to become better environmental stewards of the earth.  This is a group where everyone is joyfully encouraged to keep going on their journey.  It is also a place where everyone is comfortable sharing their knowledge and experiences.  I am so glad I joined Natalya and The Reproposer Collective group.

I’m a mixed media artist committed to using only repurposed materials in my work, and I’ve been lucky enough to find my people at the Repurposer Collective! Led by the endlessly creative and talented Natalya Khorover, this group provides support and inspiration for those who care deeply about their impact on the environment, and who find that the re-use of everyday detritus can motivate innovation and cause them to dig deeper in their practice.

I joined The Repurposer Collective about a year ago and it has been a wonderful source of community for me. I have found a group of like-minded, environmentally conscious creatives focused on repurposing materials to make art and raise awareness about the plastic pollution and over consumption problem we all face. Monthly zoom chats, on-line classes, and inspiring podcasts are all part of the wealth of ideas, techniques and resources generously shared by Natalya Khorover, the founder of the Collective.  She is not only an extraordinary, prolific and experimental artist, but she is tireless in her efforts to inspire, educate and help the environment.

I am a mixed media artist whose practice thrives on using recycled paper…but all of that changed rather quickly for me!  Joining the Repurposer Collective empowered me to collect plastic waste and try to turn it into something worthy of being called art.  Natalya is not only generous with her time while recording courses, she’s also creating engaging ways to describe various techniques to utilize plastic waste. My view will never be the same, the take away from this experience has changed my life and possibly my work forever.  I look forward to continuing to learn and grow while continuing to connect with other like minded artists like myself who share in concern for our planet but also connecting environmental concerns with creations to further educate the public about what we throw away!

Joining the Repurposer Collective has been an incredibly rewarding experience, offering both creative inspiration and a sense of community. Natalya Khorover has gathered like-minded individuals who share a passion for artistic expression and a desire to educate others by using repurposed materials. Working with single use plastic has opened up a whole new layer of creativity, challenging me to see everyday items in a new light. Through the newsletter, podcast, website, and lessons, I’ve learned it’s not just about creating art—it’s about connecting with others, learning together, and finding beauty and purpose in the unexpected.

Being a member of the repurposer collective has had a strong influence on my art practice. As someone who has begun using repurposed materials this gave me an opportunity to be with other artists who think like me. It was making an instant group of friends who give inspiration guidance and encouragement. Natalya challenges us to think outside of the box to question what happens if a discarded object is used in my art ? The answer to that question has pushed me to see beauty and art materials in all the things that are part of my daily routine.

This is just to tell you how amazed I am with your masterclasses in the community. Every time I watch one, I want to cry because I want more time to create something. There is so much information, inspiration, knowledge, and creativity in each of them that my mind can think of anything other than create something! Thank you! The paper and beverage carton ones are my favorite now! I wish there were a comment section on the videos.

Joining Repurposer Collective has been an inspiring game-changer. Through Natalya’s guidance, as well as through inspiration from fellow members, I’ve deepened my passion for repurposing fabric scraps into bright, bold, beachy quilted art to help keep textiles out of landfills. This group is the real deal - fun, kind, encouraging, supportive, and full of like-minded creatives committed to turning castoffs into meaningful art while raising awareness about those things many folks just don’t want to acknowledge or talk about - overconsumption and waste. The masterclasses are innovative and, guess what - they’re recorded, making it easy to watch as your time allows! Perfect for busy schedules or shy people; but there’s no need to be shy around this group – you’ll feel the love, encouragement, and support from day one! The monthly Zoom meetups are thoughtful and encouraging, with informative and inspiring presentations, and Natalya’s leadership is nothing short of empowering. It’s a supportive space that reminds us that small actions - especially creative ones - can drive big changes. Be part of that change – join us!
